Google pointed: large websites does not have advantages in ranking

It is considered that large websites rank in the Google search better than small websites. But recently Webmaster Analyst at Google John Muller denied this statement in his Twitter account.

According to the analyst the ranking of the website does not depend on its size. The fact that large websites get higher positions does not mean that this factor is built into Google’s ranking algorithm. Muller added that anyone can write a script to create millions of pages, but this will not make the website “perfect”. You can achieve this goal only by focusing attention on existing pages and making them all the time better.

If the website has huge amount of pages it is mean that it has higher chances of ranking by different keywords. But the most important ranking factor for Google search is the quality content. Therefore if the pages do not contain unique and interesting information Google is unlikely to rank them in high positions.
